ZAP Asset Information Management Solution is a Road Integrated Management Solution that enabled Broadspectrum (Ventia Australia) to manage the full Operations and Maintenance service delivery for the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing. The solution integrates Asset Management, Maintenance Management, Road Closure, Permit to Work, Community Communication, and KPI Reporting into a single connected platform.

The Challenge Of Project

  • Asset register, GPS locations, specifications, and lifecycle records had no centralised system across 22,000 assets

  • Preventive and corrective maintenance workflows were managed separately with no unified work order tracking

  • Traffic incidents, road closures, shift activities, and vehicle tracking were recorded through disconnected manual processes

  • KPI collection, calculation, and reporting required significant manual effort with no embedded contract parameters

  • Permit to Work, community communications, and safety documentation lacked a structured, field-accessible system

The Solution

Person reviewing ZAIMS asset management data on a computer monitor in an office

To support effective contract management and operational excellence, ZAP designed, developed, and implemented ZAIMS — which contains the following integrated web-systems:

  • Asset Management System: the core system that addressed the maintenance and operation requirements

  • Permit to Work System: included in the Core System, and linked to the Project Assets, and Locations

  • Road Closure System: included in the Core System, and linked to the Project Assets, and Locations

  • ZAP Active Community Communication (ZAC) System

  • ZAP Active Report (ZAR) System: this system collects data from the Core systems to calculate and report on the contract monthly and quarterly reports.

  • ZAP Field Mobility App: a Mobile App that links the Field Workers to the office to record the Work Orders (PM/CM) and Incident Response data.
